December 15, 2012

Wow, on a roll with the blog posting around here ;)
Christmas shopping is almost done.
Tree and all the decorations are going up tonight.
We've decided to not bake any goodies this year....in hopes of saving ourselves from working even harder to lose weight (we already have enough to shed)
Eddy is driving again, 5 year hiatus is long enough.
I'm crafting more often.
Loving the December Daily kit that I purchased from Studio Calico.
For me it's more like a December going's ons....not daily.
Eddy and I have decided to sign up for Ali Edwards One Little Word class for 2013.
I'm over the moon excited that Eddy is going to get a little crafty, I know he has it in him.
We are cooking our first farm fresh chicken for dinner tonight.
We have decided this family is full of enough hormones without eating them too ;)
That's all the random information I have to share today.
Thanks for stopping by

Life as I know it.....

Life as I know it right now.....
In the last two years I've been promoted twice at work, which sometimes is thrilling and other times exhausting.
We have managed to stay put in one house for more than a year.....hold on while I find some wood to knock on......
The kids are growing up way too fast.
We have a international student live with us...Marie....she is from Germany, 16 and fits in to our family like she is "one of ours"
Eddy has a new promotion as well, I see him sometimes more and sometimes less.....good balance most of the time.
Summer passed her learners test and is learning to drive. She would like to more...I'm still warming up to the idea.
Harley is a video game addict and a Karate Provincial Gold Medalist for his age group. He kicks butt! ;)
Zoe has decided to try out life in Edmonton with her dad....I haven't dealt with this yet....I don't think.
I craft sometimes. Not as often as I would like but I do.
My recent newest interest is Project Life. I don't document daily but I document.
Going to see Oprah in January with 13 other women, should be something to remember.
I'd like to blog more.
I've thought Eddy and I should do a he said she said blog up to the wedding....
Oh right, there will be a wedding.
Sept 14.
Life as I know it right now, pretty ok :)

NSD!!

Yah for National Scrapbooking Day!
I got my crafty on today with Rachel, we had so much fun! She also made us a yummmmmy luch of chili and veggies. Then cheesecake for desert. Yes we did get busy. I created 24 cards for the ``Mothers Day`` basket of cards that my co-workers requested I bring in. I`ll be using the crafty money I earn to get some new stamp sets. Looking forward to getting some floral sets!

So I created 4 sets of 6 cards each so far.

My BFF

This weeks challenge at Tiddly Inks Challenge blog  is best friends. I made this little cutie card for my bff Danielle. We have been friends for 34 years! We met when we were 4, probably just around Wryn's age, so this seems appropriate :)

I'm also entering this for Color Me Creative Classrooms copic challenge   I have been loving coloring with my copics lately and I sure can't wait for Suzanne to bring her teaching talents to Vancouver this summer, I'll be the crazy nutter with the tent pitched outside the scrappy store waiting for the classes to start ;)

Another tiddly inks challenge, this time it's Valentines of course :) I've been working my butt off with Valentines cards this year as I've decided to put a basket of cards together for the guys at my work to purchase. 25 is the final number I created over the last month. Let's hope they sell so I can buy some scrappy supplies ;)

Love is hanging about

This card makes me think of lazy summer days when love was just hanging about on a swing waiting for the cute boy from down the street to come on by.....oh to be 8 again! lol

Ok so I made this card for the Wednesday Challenge over at All That Scraps challenge blog this two week challenge is "Anything Goes" as long as you have an image that was purchased from their site you are good to go. I've incorporated some vellum onto my card because my friend Kristen on one of my online groups has a valentines card challenge going on to include vellum. I was a bit stumped as I don't use vellum often, but then I remembered Amy R's wonderful card where she used these lovely butterflies (also from All That Scraps store) on her card and I loved the. So vellum butterflies it is.

I also colored the image with my copic markers for the CMC Copic challenge group weekly challenge; this week the challenge is the colors of love.

Frost

Hello bloggers. I managed to make three cards today. This post is for a challenge site that is new to me; CMC Challenge blog this week's challenge is "frost/winter". I had a lot of fun and I think my copic skills might be improving just a little bit. However I do see a fun copics level 1 class over there as well at Scrapbitz copics that I think I'll have to save for and take very soon!

So here's my entry;

today's creation

Hello blog friends. Today I took on two challenges with one card. I'm not a big "stacker" of challenges, usually just do one at a time, personally I think it takes more brain power than what I have at the time of crafting to include more than one or two challenges. So without further a-du....

"Friends are the Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop"

Hi everyone! Today is another first for me. I'm participating in the Tiddly Inks Blog Hop going on over HERE

I recently purchased these adorable Wryn images, how could I not? They are adorable! Of course I had to have the whole bundle of them ;)

Anyhow, the theme of the blog hop is Friends are the Flowers of Life. So I created a birthday card for my best friend Danielle, it's her birthday today!

Here's my creation;
I used two paper pads for the patterned paper (both older) one was Quite Contrary: Jack and Jill, the other was Origins by Basic Grey. I colored Wryn with my prisma pencil crayons and added a little bling to her hair clip. The ribbon is a generic but yummy satin yellow.

I'm a huge fan of AmyR and all her sentiment stamps, I just love how she does a little bit on the inside of her cards, so taking a page out of her book I've added a little something to the inside. Of course using one of her sentiment stamp sets helps.

Well that's it for me. Hope your enjoying the blog hop! I'm off to catch the ferry to go to Victoria, BC in an hour, better go pack!

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by #5

Morning Bloggers! Last night I was looking around at a couple of the challenges that I participate in and Laurel's Inspired by #5 was the one I settled on. It's a photo inspiration, pop on over and have a look on her blog. Here's my take.

The heart, the red and the chocolate brown are what stood out for me!

The adorable image is by Tiddly Inks

This time I tried taking my photo against a black back drop with my ott light helping out, learned this trick from my friend Rachel.

Valentines treat holder

Hello bloggy friends. Today's post is created for two challenges. My good friend Rachel has a Valentines treat holder challenge on our private message board and All That Scraps has a Wednesday challenge and this week is anything goes. To meet the Wednesday challenge requirements of use a stamp from the All That Scraps store I used a sentiment stamp from AmyR's Valentines set.

This was also my first go at making a box with my cricut tags, bags and boxes cartridge. Think it turned out alright :)

Thanks for stopping by.

A first Tuesday Morning

Hi. It's Friday night but I'm now finished my very first entry into Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've looked for a few weeks and finally found the time to play along.

Here's my entry, Valentines of course (cause I love love) :)

The two mini envelopes actually come out and have little pieces of paper in them that someone could write on. I work will a large group of men so I plan of having a basket of cards that they can purchase for their wives for Valentines Day :) Helping them all look good, it's what I do ;)

Treat holder

Happy New Year everyone!
So happy to have a few days at home to play with my scrappy stuff!
I was browsing about for challenges to get my Valentines mojo flowing and I found the Wednesday Challenge over at All That Scraps has a new treat holder challenge. I've created a little treat holder (I'll probably put a gift certificate in it) for Valentines Day. I used one of Amy R's sentiment stamps to qualify for the challenge. I love her sentiments, I think I've almost bought every set that All That Scraps has!

Ok here's my treat holder;

I had purchased a package of ribbon from Michaels for my Valentines creations and when I pulled them out I looked at the packaging and thought "well isn't that a handy little package" so I decorated it up and it's good to use!
